2022 Client Case Study: Alloy x Samata Health

In June, we hit the two-year mark in our partnership with fintech client Alloy. In this time, Alloy has grown over 6x (from 40 to 290 employees!), and has been recognized with multiple “Best Places to Work” awards.

The Challenge

When we first partnered with Alloy in May 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic was beginning in full force, and it felt like the world had been knocked upside-down. Alloy’s leadership knew they needed to support their team’s mental health now more than ever. They also knew their current benefits package—a health insurance plan & traditional EAP—wouldn’t be enough. 

As COVID has waned, new challenges have arisen in its wake. Companies everywhere are grappling with how to maintain a supportive team culture in a new, remote-first world. At the same time, social upheaval surrounding racial violence, reproductive justice and more has only added to employees’ mental health support needs.

The Solution

Alloy’s leadership has proactively faced these challenges head-on, with support from Samata Health through our mental health benefit and beyond.

Earlier this year, Samata Health partnered with Alloy in hosting a live, therapist-led workshop for their team on coping with burnout in a work-from-home world. Samata Health was also proud to partner with Alloy this year on their pioneering efforts in reproductive justice, offering supportive resources & access to specialist providers in reproductive mental health. Most recently, we’ve partnered with Alloy’s DEI committee to create programming for Disability Pride Month in July!

At the core of our partnership is our mental health benefit. All Alloy employees have access to our digital platform, where they can schedule personalized sessions with licensed therapists at no cost to them. With the help of our matching algorithm, employees can search for therapists by clinical specialties, cultural competencies, racial or ethnic background and more to find a provider who truly meets their needs. From there, employees can book therapy sessions instantly on our platform with just just a few clicks!

The Results

The Alloy team has grown over 6x in our two years of partnership. What’s more impressive? They’ve done so while building and maintaining a supportive team culture that prioritizes inclusion & their employees’ wellbeing.

It should come as no surprise, then, that Alloy has been recognized with multiple “Best Places to Work” awards during our partnership, including American Banker’s Best Places to Work in FinTech (#5!) and Inc. Magazine’s Best Companies to Work for in America. Alloy credited Samata Health with contributing to their success!

The cherry on top? In 2022, the Alloy team’s engagement on our platform is an incredible 19.2%—more than 7x higher than traditional EAPs (just 2-4%). This means over 19% of current Alloy employees have scheduled therapy sessions on our platform with their Samata Health benefit!
